The Robert R. McCormick Tribune Foundation is a nonprofit organization that, according to its web page, is "committed to strengthening our free, democratic society by investing in children, communities and country." It operates six grantmaking programs, a park with gardens and a golf course, two museums and a civic outreach program. The Foundation was established as a charitable trust in 1955, upon the death of Colonel Robert R. McCormick, the longtime editor and publisher of the Chicago Tribune. The McCormick Foundation boasts more than $1 billion in assets.[1][2]

Mission

The McCormick Foundation's mission is to "foster communities of educated, informed and engaged citizens."[3]
