The Mellman Group describes itself as "experts in the decision making process of consumers and voters, and have extensive experience developing effective communications strategies that lead people to choose our client's product or service, join their organization, hold their opinion, or vote as we would like." [1]

The firm has done polling jointly with the Republican-associated firm Public Opinion Strategies. [2] [3]

In Summer 2007, the firm opened a Midwest office in Madison, Wis., with Nathan J. Henry, a Mellman vice president, as its lone employee. "The firm has done work for several Wisconsin Democrats, including Gov. Jim Doyle," reported the Wisconsin State Journal. [4]
