The Network of Activist Scholars of Politics and International Relations (NASPIR) "was launched in December 2002 at the BISA annual conference at the LSE. Its stated purpose is ‘to promote British politics and international relations scholarship which supports non-violent action against oppression.’ NASPIR is modelled explicitly on APSA's very large and successful Caucus for a New Political Science which says on its website that it is ‘an organization of political scientists united by the idea that Political Science as an academic discipline should be committed to advancing progressive political development.'" Steering Group

"Steering Group is elected annually, around the beginning of each calendar year. It consisted of the following positions and people by the end of 2006:" [2]

  • American Political Science Association (APSA) Caucus for a New Political Science (CNPS) Liaison (Anna Stavrianakis – University of Bristol then University of Sussex)
  • South Liaison (Piers Robinson – University of Manchester)
  • Discussion List Moderators (Eric Herring and Doug Stokes – City University London then University of Kent)
  • Membership Development (Ruth Blakeley – University of Bristol then University of Kent - and Anna Stavrianakis)
  • Representative for Spain (Alexander Van der Biest – UJI Madrid)
