National Press Club
The National Press Club (USA) is a private membership organization based in Washington D.C. which is open to both journalists and public relations professionals.
While it was formed in 1908 as an organisation to foster higher professional standards, journalistic ethics and as a social forum, it is now best known as a forum for public addresses on current affairs.
NPC addresses are often shown on C-SPAN as well as NPR.
Tobacco companies, tobacco associated trade groups, public health groups and government public health authorities have often used the press club as a venue for making public announcements.
