Nir T. Boms "is a senior fellow at the Council for Democracy and Tolerance and a contributing editor for National Review Online. Until recently, he served as the Vice President and Program Director of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (FDD), with which he still affiliates as a research fellow.

"Prior to his tenure at FDD, Mr. Boms held a position at the Embassy of Israel in Washington, DC as the Academic Liaison, serving as an educator, specialist and guest lecturer on Israeli and Middle Eastern affairs.

"He is a contributing writer to the Israeli newspapers Ha’aretz and Yediot Achronot, and his articles appear regularly in The Jerusalem Post, The National Review, Front Page Magazine, The Asia Times, The Washington Times, The National Interests and Pakistan Today, among others.

"Mr. Boms has extensive educational and outreach experience working in Israel, the United States and Europe. During the course of his career, he has taught and lectured in England, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland and the United States on issues relating to the Middle East, terrorism and Islam and Democracy. He speaks three languages.

"Mr. Boms holds two Master’s degrees in the fields of Political Science and Judaic Studies from the University of Maryland, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Education and Political Science and a Diploma in Informal Education from the University of Haifa. Mr. Boms served in the Israeli Defense Forces as a communication officer and holds the rank of Lieutenant." [1]

Boms is a co-founder of the Pulse of Freedom Initiative.
