Norman Adami

Norman Adami "first joined The South African Breweries Limited in 1979 and was appointed managing director of SAB in 1994. In 2000, Norman assumed the additional role of chairman.

"Following SABMiller’s purchase of Miller from Philip Morris, Norman was installed as president and CEO of Miller Brewing Company in 2003. It was during this period that Norman became known as a change agent who provides the bold leadership required in a turn-around situation.

"In 2006, Norman was appointed president and chief executive officer of SABMiller Americas. In this position he was responsible for Miller Brewing Company and SABMiller’s South and Central American business units with revenues in excess of $11 billion.

"SABMiller had acquired the Bavaria group in 2005, and Norman’s priority was to ensure optimal integration of that business with SABMiller’s other Latin American operations and the Group. In the first full year of integration the businesses achieved beer volume growth of 12%, revenue growth of 15% and EBITA growth of 18%.

"He was reappointed managing director and chairman of SAB Ltd in October 2008.

"Norman Adami holds a Bachelor of Business Science (Hons) from the University of Cape Town and an MBA from the University of the Witwatersrand Business School." [1]
