Biographical Information
"Prakash A. Melwani has served as a Kosmos director since 2004. Melwani is a senior managing director in the Private Equity group at Blackstone. Since joining Blackstone in 2003, he has led its investments in Ariel Re, Foundation Coal Holdings, Inc., Performance Food Group Company, Pinnacle Foods Group Inc., RGIS Inventory Specialists, Texas Genco Holdings, Inc, and Kosmos Energy. Before joining Blackstone, Melwani was a founding partner of Vestar Capital Partners and served as its chief investment officer. Prior to that, he was with the management buyout group at The First Boston Corporation and with N.M. Rothschild & Sons in Hong Kong and London. Melwani serves as a director of Ariel Re, Performance Food Group, Pinnacle Foods and RGIS Inventory Specialists. Melwani graduated with a first class honors degree in economics from Cambridge University. He received a master of business administration with high distinction from the Harvard Business School, graduating as a Baker Scholar and a Loeb Rhoades Fellow." [1]
