TakeAction Minnesota (formerly Minnesota Alliance for Progressive Action)

"TakeAction Minnesota and TakeAction Minnesota Education Fund, our 501(c)3 arm, were formed in 2006 when two large organizations united: the Minnesota Alliance for Progressive Action (MAPA) and Progressive Minnesota. MAPA excelled in coalition-building and successful policy campaigns. Progressive Minnesota was the leading organization in the state in grassroots organizing to build progressive electoral strength. The two organizations merged after leaders concluded that an organization that combined policy and organizing skills would be more powerful than each working independently. We are fortunate to inherit the organizational relationships, skills, and reputation of each of our predecessor organizations." [1]
