Richard Oppenheimer "has been the director of Tibet Information Network in London since February, 1998. He worked as a freelance journalist in India in the late '60s and as a radio and television producer with Radio Television Hong Kong from 1969 to 1975. For the next 22 years he worked for the BBC World Service (Radio) in London, almost exclusively on Asian affairs. He interviewed the Dalai Lama for the BBC World Service in 1981 and again in 1983 and wrote extensively on the politics of the South Asian region (including Tibet) before becoming deputy head of the BBC Far Eastern Service in 1984 and, subsequently, acting head of the BBC South East Asian Service."
