Dr. Simon Lyster (UK) "is a lawyer by background (qualified in both the UK and United States). He has always been passionate about wildlife and has worked for environmental organisations for most of his professional life. He worked for WWF for ten years and went on to become Director General of the Wildlife Trusts, one of the largest conservation organisations in the UK. He is now Chief Executive of LEAD International (Leadership in Environment and Development) and on the Board of several wildlife conservation charities. Simon is a regular visitor to Brazil. His wife is Brazilian and runs conservation programmes for WWF-UK." [1]

"Simon Lyster became Chief Executive of LEAD International on 1 May 2005. He was previously Director of Development.

"Simon joined LEAD in 2003, having been Director General of the Wildlife Trusts, one of the largest nature conservation organisations in the UK, for seven years. Before that Simon worked for WWF for nine years, where he was responsible for WWF's global policy work on international conventions such as the Biological Diversity Convention and CITES." [2]
