From 2005: "Sir Ian Prosser spent most of his career with Bass and its successors, Six Continents and InterContinental Hotels. He joined Bass, the brewer, in 1969 and was finance director from 1978 to 1984 and chairman and chief executive from 1987 to 2000. He was chairman of Six Continents from 2000 to 2003 and of InterContinental from 2003 to 2004. Prosser was a Boots non-executive director from 1984 to 1996. In 1988 he joined the board of Lloyds Bank and remained when it merged with TSB, staying until 1999. In 1997 Prosser joined BP and became non-executive deputy chairman two years later. In 2000, he was made a non-executive director of GlaxoSmithKline." [1]
