Stanford University was originally known as Leland Stanford Jr. University. It is a private university located approximately 37 miles (60 kilometers) southeast of San Francisco and approximately 20 miles (32 km) northwest of San Jose in Stanford, California, United States. Stanford is situated adjacent to the city of Palo Alto, in Silicon Valley.

Standford hosts the Hoover Institution on War, Revolution, and Peace, a major U.S. think tank.

USDA AWA reports

As of May 26, 2009, the USDA began posting all inspection reports for animal breeders, dealers, exhibitors, handlers, research facilities and animal carriers by state. See also USDA Animal Welfare Inspection Reports.

Global Climate and Energy Project

In December 2002, Exxon announced the Global Climate and Energy Project (GCEP) at Stanford University in partnership with General Electric and Schlumberger and other corporate partners to follow. Exxon committed $100 million over 10 years. The project is not intended to further explore climate science, instead focusing on development of new energy technology and carbon sequestration technology.[2]
