Suzanne Ehlers is the president and CEO of Population Action International. She formerly acted as their Senior Associate for International Advocacy. "Her work is largely defined by the management of a sub-granting program of nearly $500,000 annually; the development of regional advocacy teams around the tenth anniversary of the Cairo Programme of Action; and the identification of new alliances and partnerships.

"For two years prior to joining PAI, Ehlers was an Independent Strategic Consultant for the HKH Foundation, World Resources Institute, Center for a New American Dream and National Voice. In these various capacities, she helped build progressive advocacy coalitions around the 2004 presidential election; she researched and wrote analytical pieces on policy reform vis-à-vis civil society’s access to and impact on decision-making at the international institutions; and she led a cross-sectoral investigation into how U.S. unilateralism impacts international treaties processes.

"From 1996-2001, Ehlers was Associate Program Officer with the Wallace Global Fund.

"She served with the United States Peace Corps in Central African Republic from 1995-1996 and is proficient in French and Sango. Ehlers received her BA in Government from Cornell University in May 1995.“ [1]
