-- Mr. Rassman, I, too, am a Vietnam Veteran and I can understand your loyalty to Senator Kerry for his actions that apparently saved your life during a Mekong swift boat mission. What I cannot understand is why you apparently have no adverse opinion regarding Senator Kerry's outburst against, not just the war, but against his fellow comrades during his testimonies in 1971. I can tell you first hand that the actions of John Kerry , Jane Fonda and other liberals who actively protested the war gave comfort and aid to the enemy. As a result of their actions, many of our comrades were killed or wounded because the enemy had hope and encouragement that America could not and would not stay the course.

I do not challenge John Kerry's service in combat; however, I do challenge his ill chosen actions while I and many of my comrades were doing our duty for country in Vietnam. The manner in which he chose to disparage fellow soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines was dishonorable and, in essense, disloyal to all who served in Vietnam!

I could not feel comfortable having John Kerry as Commander-in-Chief of our brave and honorable service members. He will not get my vote nor the votes of those I honor as friends and fellow soldiers.
