Edit note

I removed the following par for two reasons. Firstly, while it was attributed to Pfotenhauer this article attributes it to Betsy Hart in the IWF magazine. As it was published the year before Pfotenhauer joined the organisation it is not relevant to leave it on the page even if the author was correctly identified.--Bob Burton 22:12, 5 August 2008 (EDT)

At the IWF she had repeatedly and publicly testified against the Violence Aginst Women Act (VAWA), saying "The Violence Against Women Act will do nothing to protect women from crime. It will, though, perpetuate false information, waste money and urge vulnerable women to mistrust all men".

I deleted the Houston Chronicle article because it was entirely about ONSHORE releases from storage tanks, trucks turning over, etc. The hurricanes caused this damage, but there is nothing about the hurricanes causing damage to anything OFFshore that then leaked -- no damages to drilling platforms, no damage to pipelines from platforms to land, etc.

I reinstated the Houston Chronicle quote with clarification, since the article mentions spills of "oil and chemicals stored at massive industrial facilities, in pipelines and on platforms." Diane Farsetta 12:37, 2 September 2008 (EDT)

The timeline seems a bit off. "she was a graduate research assistant" around 1980 and "appointed to the Bush transition team at 24" ?? Even if the Bush in question is the Elder that would make her 16 in 1980.

Changed her name to reflect her two marriages and her proper maiden name.
