"USCAN was created in 1989 by groups working on global warming in response to the need for a forum for joint strategy development and advocacy to affect change in a coordinated way at the state and local level as well as at the United Nations and in Washington, DC... USCAN is an affiliate network of the Climate Action Network (CAN), a worldwide network of more than 400 Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) from 85 countries working to promote government, private sector and individual action to limit human-induced climate change to ecologically sustainable levels. USCAN also is a partner of the Global Campaign on Climate Action (GCCA). "[1]
