Victoria O'Donnell, Ph.D. was a Professor in the Department of Communications at Montana State University at Bozeman, and is an expert in the application of propaganda and rehtoric to maintain a market.[citation needed]

Biography

Victoria O'Donnell, Ph.D., was a Professor and Director of the University Honors Program at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. Dr. O'Donnell received a Ph.D. in Speech Communication from Pennsylvania State University. She has also been a Professor and Chairperson for the Department of Communication at Montana State University, Oregon State University and University of North Texas. (State of Florida's Proposed Plaintiff's Disclosure of Expert Witnesses, 2/5/97) Her area of expertise includes the application of propaganda and rhetoric used to maintain a market. Also, how propaganda and rhetoric affect consumption patterns and consumer's decision-making process.

She has published articles and chapters in a wide range of journals and books on topics concerning persuasion, the social effects of media, women in film and television, British politics, Nazi propaganda, collective memory, cultural studies theory, and science fiction films of the 1950s. She is also the author (with June Kable) of Persuasion: An Interactive-Dependency Approach, Random House, 1982, Propaganda and Persuasion.
