Werner Georg Haverbeck was the president of the World Union for Protection of Life between 1974 and 1982.

The Heidelberger Manifest [1] was “signed by a group of German professors and ecologists, among them Werner Georg Haverbeck, and published by the NA party paper ‘’Volk + Heimat’’ in November 1982. In fact, the Swiss paper published the first, more radical version of the manifesto which was revised after strong criticism and then reissued. The manifesto is considered to be the most important writing of the German New Right on the theme of ecology.” [1] (National Action (NA)
