Western Power

Western Power is an electricity transmission and distribution utility owned by the Western Australian government. Western Power is responsible for operating and maintaining the transmission system within the South West Interconnected System, the electricity grid serving the south-wast of Western Australia.

World of Energy

Western Power has created what it describes as the states "premier energy and environmental education centre" which "provides information about all aspects of Western Australia’s energy industry through the use of interactive, multimedia displays." The utility states that "the centre offers a range of hands-on, curriculum-based educational programs for primary and secondary students, and has a strong focus on promoting an awareness and understanding of a variety of energy and environmental issues." Sponsors of the center include Wesfarmers Premier Coal, the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association Limited, [BP Refinery Kwinana]], the solar hot water heater company, Solahart, and the Glasson Murray Group, a website design company.[1]
