Biographical Details

"William S. Foerderer Infante is The Asia Foundation’s country representative in Mongolia. A senior development professional with over 20 years of international public sector and private sector experience in economic development and finance, Mr. Infante comes to the Foundation from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), where he was the director of USAID's Office of Economic Growth in Jakarta, Indonesia. In that capacity, he was responsible for programs focused on macro-economic reform, trade, energy, judicial reform, and private sector development.

"From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Infante was director of USAID's Economic Policy and Finance Office and acting mission director in Belgrade, Serbia, where he helped re-open USAID's Mission in Serbia and Montenegro immediately following the overthrow of Slobadan Milosevic. From 1996 to 2001, he directed USAID's Private Sector Finance Office and served as acting mission director in Sofia, Bulgaria; and from 1992 to 1996 he was a private sector and infrastructure development officer with USAID in Sri Lanka."
