A. R. Purvis was a lawyer with Shook, Hardy & Bacon who handled Philip Morris legal work roughly from 1984-2000. His first name may have been "Alan". Virtually all of his papers available in the tobacco document databases is marked "Privileged and Confidential" and is unavailable for viewing. He apparently worked as joint defense counsel in smoking and health litigation.
