"Agatha (Gay) S. Barclay is a Founding Board Member of the PAVA Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports community-based projects in the rural highlands of Guatemala. Mrs. Barclay's involvement with PAVA began in 1986 and she continues to serve on its Board. Mrs. Barclay is actively involved on the board of the Casey Tree Endowment Fund in Washington, D.C. The Endowment Fund has a mission to restore, enhance and protect the tree canopy of the District of Columbia, in cooperation with the DC Government, the community and federal agencies. Mrs. Barclay has a passion for fly fishing and has been a director of the Coldwater Conservation Fund of Trout Unlimited since 1996. Since 1988, she has served as a board member and raised funds for the Katharine Pollard Maddux Mental Health Foundation, a small, highly focused nonprofit foundation supporting early childhood education. Mrs. Barclay is a Director of the Robert E. Lee Memorial Association which maintains and operates Stratford Hall Plantation, Robert E. Lee’s birthplace in Virginia. Mrs. Barclay serves as a Director of World Resource Institute. She was formerly executive director of the Friends of the National Arboretum and a fundraiser for the Natural Resources Defense Council. Mrs. Barclay writes freelance articles on fly fishing and gardening for magazines and newsletters." [1]
