This is generally a mistranslation of ARIA, which is the Association for Research into Indoor Air

It was a UK group of the tobacco-funded, "independent" scientific consultants and Whitecoats which used ARIA to act as a cut-out, thus creating a legal barrier against discovery to protect the tobacco companies and the moonlighting academic consultants.
