Biographical Information

"Alan Roberts is a metallurgist who retired from Rio Tinto in 2003 after 32 years at operations throughout the world. From 1999 to 2003, he was with the then Lihir Gold Limited in PNG, where he become Chief Executive Officer.

"From 1996 to 1999 he was with Kelian Equatorial Mining in Indonesia, where he became Managing Director. He was General Manager - Metallurgy for the design of the Century Mine in Queensland, Australia.

"Between 1993 and 1994, he was General Manager - Operations for Imperial Smelting lead/zinc smelters at Avonmouth, UK and Cockie Creek, News South Wales, Australia. From 2003 to 2004 he was Managing Director of Indophil Resources NL; was non-executive director of Golden China Resources (until it was taken over by Sino Gold Limited); and is currently in the Investment Committee of Taurus Investment Fund."[1]
