Biographical Information

"Founder of E&A Law Limited, Ana Stanic is a Solicitor Advocate with rights of audience in all English Courts. She completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Banking) and a Bachelor of Laws at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. Thereafter, Ana spent two years at the Slovenian Ministry of Economic Relations and Development and Central Bank, where she was responsible for negotiating investment protection agreements and free trade agreements on behalf of Slovenia, advising the Slovene government on EU and international law, drafting banking regulations and supervising banks. She received a Cambridge Trust and Chevenning Scholarship to study international law, EU competition law and international dispute resolution at Cambridge University. She completed the LLM with highest distinction.

"Migrating to private practice, Ana has spent the last decade working in London at the leading international law firms of Clifford Chance, Vinson & Elkins and Skadden Arps. She has extensive experience advising multinational companies, governments and financial institutions.

"While at Clifford Chance, Ana gained broad-based experience in the field of banking and finance, representing lenders and borrowers in cross-border syndicated corporate and project financing, as well as in advising on privatisation and restructuring of corporate entities and financial institutions in emerging markets.

"Upon joining the firm of Vinson & Elkins, a world leading energy law firm, Ana focused on energy, corporate and international law, advising world leading energy companies on LNG and pipeline projects, sales and acquisitions, negotiation of host government agreements, gas supply agreements, as well as issues of public international law and investment law.

"Joining Skadden Arps, Ana continued working in the field of energy, arbitration and international law while representing leading energy companies in price review negotiations, international and investment arbitrations (including AAA, LCIA, ICSID and UNCITRAL) and before the English Courts.

"Ana has recently represented clients in the European Court of Justice on matters concerning the European Common Agricultural Policy and EU public procurement rules. Ana regularly publishes in academic journals and newspapers and is the convenor of the international commercial arbitration in comparative regional perspectives (with emphasis on Arbitration in the Middle East, Russia and China at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Ana is also an Associate Professor at Notre Dame University."[1]
