"From the 1st of April 2021 Andy Blackhall (BSc Hons) will become the Managing Director of the Water Research Centre (WRc). Andy joined WRc in 2018 as the Head of Asset Management, following which he was appointed to Commercial Director responsible for the organisations strategic growth which in 2021 has delivered its strongest trading performance for the past 10 years. During this period Andy has also worked for Her Majesties Government as Water specialist for the Department of International Trade working across the globe promoting the strengths and capabilities of the UK Water Sector. Andy’s prior 15 years in consulting, contracting and water utilities provides strategic and operational breadth of view. Andy has extensive experience in technology and innovation and is an advocate for the sectors ability to contribute to the future of sustainable green growth. Andy holds additional roles as Non-Executive Director for British Water and is the current sitting chair of the British Water International forum where he represents views of the UK supply chain. Andy as Non-Executive Director is pleased to be associated with the essential work of the Non-Government Organisation Waterwise which is responsible for promoting sustainable water use in the UK.
