Biography

"Andy Cope describes himself as a qualified teacher, author and learning junkie. Andy is currently studying happiness, flourishing and positivity as part of a PhD thesis. He has delivered his flagship workshop, ‘The Art of Being Brilliant’ to rave reviews all over the world. Andy has written ‘The Art of Being Brilliant’ and ‘Being Brilliant’, self help books for adults, as well as ‘A Brilliant Life’ and ‘The Game of Life’, the UK’s first positive psychology books for teenagers. Andy has also penned the successful ‘Spy Dog’ series, published by Puffin. His first novel won the Redhouse Children’s Book of the Year and the series has sold in excess of a million copies worldwide. Andy is currently working on the ‘Spy Pups’ series. His new book, ‘Spy Dog’s Got Talent’ was chosen to be the World Book Day title for 2011. Andy has done numerous TV and radio appearances. He has also set up the hugely successful 2%ers club, the UK’s first, foremost and…err…only society for happy people. He lives with his wife, 2 children and 2 pet pigs in a village in Derbyshire." In 2014 the Daily Express noted "By the end of this year Cope will have completed his PhD, after a decade of studying positive psychology. He will, no joke, become the UK’s first Doctor of Happiness. Although it may sound a cheesy title (the full version is Doctor of Happiness and Positive Psychology), if anyone can pull it off it is Cope. (Some of his favourite music includes U2’s Beautiful Day, Take That’s Shine and, of course, Pharrell Williams’s Happy). A lot of his research is in his most recent book, Be Brilliant Everyday, written with fellow author Andy Whittaker." [1]
