Anne McLellan

The Honourable Anne McLellan "has been counsel at Bennett Jones LLP, Barristers and Solicitors, and Distinguished Scholar in Residence at the University of Alberta in the Institute for US Policy Studies since 2006. Previously, she served as the Liberal Member of Parliament for Edmonton Centre from 1993 to 2006. Between 2003 and 2006, she served as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness. Before that, she served as Minister of Health, Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Minister of Natural Resources and Federal Interlocutor for Métis and Non-Status Indians.

"Prior to entering politics, Ms. McLellan taught law at the University of New Brunswick and the University of Alberta, serving as Associate Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta from 1985 to 1987 and as Acting Dean from July 1991 to June 1992.

"Ms. McLellan holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degrees from Dalhousie University and a Master of Laws degree from King’s College, University of London. She was appointed to the Privy Council of the Government of Canada in 1993.

"Anne is also a director of Agrium Inc. and Cameco Corporation.

"Anne resides in Edmonton, Alberta." [1]
