Australian Republican Movement

The Australian Republican Movement "was formed in July 1991. The movement was established around the central aim that Australia's Head of State would be an Australian citizen chosen by Australians, and that this could be achieved in time for the centenary of Australia's Federation on 1 January 2001." [1]
