Biographical Information

Bala is the founder and Director of the Asian Foundation for Philanthropy. "She has worked for the Voluntary Service Overseas supporting charities in many countries, including in-country work in Ghana where she supported disabled people's organisations. She was a key officer for the Confederation of Indian Organisation which supports Asian charities and communities across the UK, where she attracted new funding and helped community groups structure themselves to become self-sustaining. Bala recently won the Asian Woman Award 2008 for her Social and Humanitarian work spanning the last twenty years."
