Ben Fargher

Ben Fargher is the Chief Executive Officer of the National Farmers' Federation, a position he has held since February 2005. [1]

A biographical note states that Fargher "previously held the position as NFF's Senior Policy Manager, Trade and in this position he was responsible for international trade negotiations and quarantine. Mr Fargher has also represented NFF as the Secretary of the NFF Trade Committee, the Cairns Group Farm Leaders Forum and the NFF Quarantine Animal Health Taskforce. Since joining the NFF in 1999, Ben has held the positions of Senior Policy Manager, Director of Rural Policy and Secretary of the Australian Farmers' Fighting Fund (AFFF)."[2]

"Prior to joining the NFF, Ben was a Policy Officer with the Cattle Council of Australia. Mr Fargher holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from the University of Adelaide, a Masters degree in Economics from the University of New England and a Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is a Churchill Fellow. Mr Fargher grew up on a mixed cropping, wool and beef property at Warren in central west New South Wales," it states. [3]
