Bert Ward

Bert Ward was a manual worker for many years and active in the National Union of Railwaymen holding a variety of lay offices including the delegate to the NUR Darlington District Council and the Middlesbrough Trades Council. He then studied at Ruskin College before working for the AEU in their Peckham Head office. After attending LSE he became a lecturer in Politics and an activist in the lecturers' union NATFHE. [1]
