Dr. Carl A. Moeller "is President/CEO of Open Doors USA, based in Santa Ana, California. Open Doors USA is an affiliate of Open Doors International founded by Brother Andrew. Open Doors supports and strengthens persecuted Christians in 45 countries, has 20 offices worldwide and more than 350 employees. Open Doors celebrated 50 years of ministry in 2005.

"Moeller has a heart for those who are denied religious freedom and basic human rights in countries around the world. He has traveled extensively to encourage and strengthen Christians persecuted for their faith, including trips to the Middle East, China, Vietnam, Pakistan, Colombia, India, Sudan and Central Asia...

"Moeller was appointed President/CEO of Open Doors USA in September 2003.

"Before joining Open Doors USA, Moeller, 45, served as a Pastor in Membership at Saddleback Church (Lake Forest, California). He was responsible for all ministry activity for single adults at Saddleback Church.

"Carl’s ministry began in 1983 when he joined Campus Crusade for Christ International. His positions at Campus Crusade included serving on the campus staff at the University of Minnesota, associate chaplain at Yale University, manager for The Dick Purnell Ministry and European representative based in Starnberg, West Germany.

"His work experience also includes Director of Institutional Advancement and Director of Alumni Relations at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago; Director of Development/Major Gifts Officer at the University of Illinois at Chicago; Assistant Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Westminster College of Salt Lake City and Associate Pastor at the Evangelical Free Church of Salt Lake City.

"Moeller earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Pennsylvania State University in 1983 and a Master of Divinity degree (cum laude) from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 1993. He received a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Utah in December 2003. He is a member of the Salt Lake Theological Seminary Board of Directors and is an adjunct faculty member at Biola University (La Mirada, California). Moeller is co-author of the book “Being God’s Man As A Satisfied Single.”

"He is an authority on religious freedom issues and has appeared on many radio and television shows, including Hannity & Colmes, the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), PAX-TV and Moody Radio’s Prime Time America. He also has been interviewed for articles for many magazines such as Christianity Today.
