Biographical Information

In December 2011 it was reported that: "The government represented by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and the National Agriculture Export Board (NAEB) recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Cevital Group. Cevital Group chairman Issad Rebrab and RDB CEO John Gara after signing the agreement. According to Issad Rebrab, Chairman of Cevital Group (an Algerian company with US$ 3.5b of turnover in 2010), the company is planning to invest around US$ 250m in Rwanda over 2 to 3 years and particularly in the agriculture sector, focusing on agro-processing. According to Rebrab the immediate interest is to add value to Rwanda’s tea but also to set up a sugar production plant with the capacity of at least 200.00 MT per year." [1]
