"He ran the National Curriculum Council and the Schools’ Curriculum and Assessment Authority, before his appointment as Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Schools in 1994. He is presently Professor of Education at the University of Buckingham and the Chairman of the Cognita Schools’ Group. Sir Chris also broadcasts and writes regularly in the national press on education policy and is well known for his uncompromising stance on the importance of strong leadership and effective teaching in schools.
