Christopher Hedrick "is founder, president, CEO and chairman of the Board of Directors of Lguide. Chris has been a longtime leader in technology and learning. He oversees Lguide's strategic direction and provides consulting services to select clients. He is co-author of 'E-Learning Course Publishers: A Comparative Analysis and Industry Directory,' and has been published in Online Learning and e-Learning magazines. Immediately before founding Lguide in 1999, Chris was technology policy advisor to Governor Gary Locke of the state of Washington. While in that position, he worked to advance digital government and state use of electronic commerce, and was the Governor's advisor on distance education and educational technology. During this time, Washington state was twice recognized as 'The Digital State' - for the nation's best use of information technology in government and education - and its Internet portal, Access Washington, was named the best public service Web site in the country. Prior to serving in the Locke administration, Hedrick was the director of Strategy and Operations for the Gates Library Foundation. The Library Foundation was an outgrowth of Libraries Online, a program Hedrick oversaw while managing national philanthropic programs for Microsoft. Libraries Online, which brought computer and Internet access and training to public libraries serving low-income communities across the United States and Canada. Hedrick also coordinated educational interactions across divisions of Microsoft, and was responsible for developing the growth of the company's partnership with the United Negro College Fund. Before joining Microsoft, Hedrick was a senior administrator at the Peace Corps international headquarters, where he developed the agency's Internet and education technology initiatives. Previously, he had served as a small business development volunteer for the Peace Corps in Senegal. Hedrick has also managed a congressional office, served as an elected school board member in Olympia, Washington - where he pushed forward a nationally recognized school technology program - and taught American political history at Oxford University. Hedrick graduated from Stanford University with honors, and was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University. He is a board member and treasurer of PATH, the global health nonprofit that has been the largest recipient of Gates Foundation children's and women's health funding."
