Crikey is an independent online media service. Every week day we send our 10,000+ subscribers (known as the Crikey Army) an email crammed with the latest news, analysis, juicy gossip, reviews, rumours, links and prescient tips...

"Crikey is a "clearing house" for information that might otherwise remain suppressed. It's a place where people can go – anonymously or not – with information they believe is in the public interest." [1]

People

"The crew behind Crikey are an eclectic bunch. Sitting around the Crikey news desk every morning (unless they’re off following a story) are publisher Eric Beecher, editor Jonathan Green, managing editors Jane Nethercote and Sophie Black, website editor Ben Shearman and writer Thomas Hunter (plus the occasional intern).

"In the engine room are publisher Diana Gribble, general manager Amber Sloan, advertising director Steve Murray, marketing coordinator and office manager Marika Webb-Pullman, marketing coordinator Leigh Josey, business development manager Alexia Touchette, traffic coordinator Brielie-Jean Hudson and subscriber services coordinator Amelie Mills.

"Lobbing stories in from far and wide are Crikey founder Stephen Mayne, national affairs editor Bernard Keane, media writers Margaret Simons and Glenn Dyer, our US correspondent Guy Rundle, philosopher and psephologist Charles Richardson and the compilers of Marcus Today on the morning’s stock market. Mark Cornwall’s cartoons appear in the Crikey inbox from midnight until after breakfast each day, and First Dog on the Moon submits daily as well. Regular and irregular contributions arrive from many well-informed members of the Crikey Army.

"The owner of Crikey is Private Media Pty Ltd, a gang of four that along with Eric Beecher and Diana Gribble includes Crikey life member and marketing guru John Addis from Tyagarah..." [2]
