Dame Helen Alexander, CBE "is Deputy President of the CBI (President June 2009 to June 2011) and chairman of Incisive Media and of the Port of London Authority (PLA). She is currently non-executive director and chair of the remuneration committee at Centrica plc (2003) and Rolls-Royce Group plc (2007), and senior adviser to Bain Capital.

"Helen is a trustee of the WWW (World Wide Web) Foundation, deputy chair of the Governors and chair of the Education Committee at St Paul's Girls' School, and chair of the Business Advisory Council of the Said Business School, Oxford University. She was Chief Executive of the Economist Group till 2008, having joined the company in 1985 and been managing director of the Economist Intelligence Unit from 1993 to 1997.

"In addition to her experience at the helm of an international business, Helen also has board experience across a range of sectors. She was a non-executive director at Northern Foods plc (1994-2002) and at BT plc (1998-2002)." [1]

Appointed to the Board of Rolls-Royce "in September 2007. Helen Alexander was Chief Executive of The Economist Group from 1997 until July 2008, having joined the company in 1984. She has an MBA from INSEAD. She was Managing Director of The Economist Intelligence Unit from 1993 until the end of 1996. Helen is a non-executive director of Centrica, a Trustee of the Tate Gallery and a governor of St Paul's Girls' School. She was awarded a CBE for services to publishing in 2004. She is currently Chairman of PPA, the magazine industry trade association." [2]
