"Daniel O'Day joined Gilead Sciences in March 2019 as Chairman of the board of directors and Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to Gilead, Daniel served as the Chief Executive Officer of Roche Pharmaceuticals. His career at Roche spanned more than three decades, during which he held a number of executive positions in the company's pharmaceutical and diagnostics divisions in North America, Europe and Asia. He served as a member of the Roche's Corporate Executive Committee, as well as on a number of public and private boards, including Genentech, Flatiron Health and Foundation Medicine.

"Daniel O'Day holds a bachelor's degree in biology from Georgetown University and an MBA from Columbia University in New York. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America organization." [1]
