Darian Weltman Swig "is deeply engaged in human rights advocacy, humanitarian issues, and strategic philanthropy. She currently serves as co-chair of Human Rights Watch California Committee North, a trustee of the World Affairs Council, board member for the US Association for UNHCR, co-founding board member for Genocide Intervention Network, and member of the Pacific Council on International Policy. From 2001-2006, Darian studied as an adjunct World Peace Fellow at the Rotary Center for International Studies at the University of California, Berkeley where she completed dual Masters degrees in Political Science and International Area Studies. Before her graduate studies, Darian worked for nearly 15 years in the field of international protocol. Founder of Weltman Protocol Group in 1995, she advised government, non-profit, and private sectors on international protocol and diplomacy. Born in Germany, Darian lives in San Francisco with her husband." [1]
