David S. Bennahum

David S. Bennahum is President and CEO of the Center for Independent Media.

Bennahum is "an author, journalist, and leading new media thinker. He was one of the founding writers with Wired magazine and is a frequent television and radio commentator on issues relating to technology and society. His writing has appeared in Slate, The Economist, New York magazine, and The New York Times; [1] He previously served as a Senior Fellow at Media Matters for America.

He has written one book, Extra Life: Coming of Age in Cyberspace (Basic Books, 1998), and is currently writing another, titled Fair Play (Gotham Books), "which traces the evolution of the concept of team sports in modern society."
