EarthWays Foundation "was founded in 1985 to encourage personal awareness and social responsibility from a global perspective. We initiate small-scale projects that are cutting edge models for environmental preservation, human potential and sustainable development. The projects and educational programs seek solutions that protect our planet's environment, contribute to social justice, and cultivate a deep respect for the interconnectedness of all life. EarthWays is a non-profit, charitable organization under IRS code section 501(c)(3)." [1]

"EarthWays administers a funding program called "Rainforest Information Centre Small Grants Fund". Over the last fifteen years approximately $250,000 in grants has been made to grass roots groups throughout the world with an average grant size of $1000. Funds are provided by John Seed’s roadshows and workshops in addition to grants from foundations and individual donors." [2]

"Amazon Watch is an independent project working in association with EarthWays; For the Earth." [3]
