Foundation for International Understanding: "In conjunction with the Center for the Study of the Presidency, the USC Center on Public Diplomacy is working with leaders in international broadcasting and public diplomacy to develop a business plan to create an independent grant-making foundation to "marshal the talent and creativity of the private sector to combat antagonism and mistrust between America and other societies." Tentatively called the Foundation for International Understanding, the Foundation will provide grants to facilitate the production and international distribution of high-quality media programming to combat anti-Americanism.

"In our advisory role to the working group, the USC Center on Public Diplomacy has directed the development of a project plan for the creation of the Foundation's business plan. In addition to providing input in working group meetings, we are managing the process of stakeholder needs assessment to provide insights that will help us complete a business plan to submit to Congress in February 2005."
