Fundacao O Boticario de Protecao a Natureza

"Created in 1990, the Fundação O Boticário de Proteção à Natureza is a non-profit organization, headquartered in Curitiba, in the State of Parana, Brazil, whose mission is to promote and take actions to conserve nature.

"The institution is a voluntary expression of corporate responsibility to private social investment by O Boticário, a manufacturer of perfume, cosmetics and personal hygiene products. O Boticário is a genuinely Brazilian company, whose activities are based on ethics and social responsibility.

"The Fundação O Boticário de Proteção à Natureza was born from the O Boticário owners desire to carry out actions for the preservation of nature. In practice, the Foundation transformed O Boticário's hopes to protect nature into a reality, as well as its goal to conserve the environment for future generations. Three main factors contributed to its creation: first, the growing interest and sensibility of the company's president and founder of the institution, Miguel Gellert Krigsner, for preserving nature. He was also inspired by efforts taken by the Israeli organization KKL (Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael - http://www.inisrael.com/kkl), which, since 1901, has been recuperating areas in Israel and recently promoted the planting of 200 million trees in this country."
