"Geoffrey Cowley joined Newsweek as a general editor in March 1988, was quickly promoted to senior writer, and has led Newsweek?s medical coverage since 1990, working both as a writer and an editor (promoted to senior editor in 1997) to produce groundbreaking articles on topics ranging from brain science to global health. His stories have won numerous awards and several have prompted government action." [1]
