Gilles Kepel is Professor at Sciences-Po Paris and an expert on Islam and Middle East Affairs. Professor Kepel holds degrees in Arabic, English and philosophy, a PhD in sociology and a PhD in political science. He holds or has held visiting professorships at the London School of Economics and Political Science, New York University and Columbia University. Professor Kepel is the author of many highly regarded books, including The War for Muslim Minds: Islam and the West and Beyond Terror and Martyrdom: The future of the Middle East, and is a regular contributor to such renowned publications as Le Monde, The New York Times, La Repubblica, and El Pais.[1]
