Biographical Information

Graham Smith was appointed as chairman of the board of Voyage Care "in 2006. Mr. Smith qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in London, then spent 5 years in industry before founding Goldsborough Healthcare plc in 1982. The company was subsequently listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1994 and acquired by BUPA in 1997. From 1997 to 2000 Mr. Smith was Managing Director of BUPA Care Homes during which period it became the leading care home operator in the UK. Since 2001, Mr. Smith has been involved in numerous private equity investments in the health and social care sectors both in the UK and Europe. He has extensive experience as both an executive and non-executive director of both public and private companies and charitable organisations. He is currently a non-executive director of Aston Chambers Ltd, Airedale Homes Ltd, Methodist Homes Ltd, Leeds Mind Ltd and Ilkley Players Ltd. Mr. Smith has a 2:1 honours degree from Durham University in Politics and Economics and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales." [1]
