Biographical Information

Greg Power leads Global Partners and Associates’s "work on developing parliamentary democracy and political parties. This includes running projects on the ground with politicians in the Middle East, Africa and Europe, in countries such as Iraq, Egypt and Zimbabwe.

"He provides strategic advice to a variety of international organisations and national ministries. These include the Danish foreign ministry regarding their multi-party institute, and International IDEA to evaluate their work on political parties.He writes widely about parliamentary reform and political parties on issues such as donor approaches to reform, principles for political programmes, and parliamentary codes of conduct.He is the lead author of the first Global Parliamentary Report, to be published by the UNDP and IPU in 2012.

"He was previously a special adviser to British ministers Rt Hon Robin Cook MP and Rt Hon Peter Hain MP, working on strategies for parliamentary reform, constitutional change and the wider democratic agenda in conjunction with the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit and Downing Street policy staff.

"Greg directed the Parliament and Government Programme at the Hansard Society, the UK’s leading think tank on parliament and parliamentary reform. He also ran their Commission on Parliamentary Accountability." [1]
