"Dr Anderson completed a B Sc in Chemical Engineering at the University of Cape Town and subsequently a Ph D in the field of coal fines beneficiation.

"Dr Anderson spent several years working in the mining industry for De Beers and Anglo American, including a two year period with Consolidated Diamond Mines in Namibia, before relocating to the UK and refocusing his career. He qualified as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse in London and, after five years with the firm, moved into stockbroking, spending two years with James Capel.

"Dr Anderson then moved to CIBC World Markets in London where he became an executive director in the mining M&A and advisory business. He has considerable experience on the execution side of the investment banking business having been closely involved in a significant number of mining deals - primarily in Africa and Europe.

"In 2004, Dr Anderson accepted the position of Chief Financial Officer of Ivanhoe Nickel & Platinum Limited. After two years, he resigned from the Johannesburg-based position and relocated to Australia where he consults to the mining industry.

"Dr Anderson was appointed Non-executive Director of Paramount Mining "in September 2008.[1]
