Henry Ross Perot "is an American businessman from Texas, best known for seeking the office of President of the United States in 1992 and 1996. While fighting Texas' "War on Drugs," Mr. Perot embarked on a rescue mission to save employees of his company taken hostage by the Iranian government. The mission was successful and saw the release of those held hostage, including 10,000 other prisoners. For his personal courage in the dramatic rescue of captives in Iran Mr. Perot was given the Raoul Wallenberg Award." [1] In 1996, he was the Reform Party's presidential nominee and received 8.4% of the popular vote.
